Hi, I am John Engeln.

John Engeln

I do all kinds of things, because I like to experiment and find out how they are done. This is why I like reading, writing, cooking and the entire concept of open source. It allows people to learn and come to their own conclusions.

In todays world it is increasingly hard to be an open, experimenting mind as everything that is only remotely interesting to people is being commercialised and sold to people. There is no more doing something for the sake of doing it, all has to follow the meaningless pursuite of monetary extraction.

This is why I try to consume little and experience the world by doing. Despite popular believe that it requires a large organisation, almost all things can be done and understood by normal people. All this complex over-bloated stuff we call progress these days is not needed, nor helpful, man can live with a lot fewer and simpler things.

The mystery of life isn’t a problem to solve, but a reality to experience.
